There is power in praying for your family in difficult times!

Life can be hard. Sometimes, it just seems unbearable. Yet, be rest assured that you and your family members are not alone.

John 16:33

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Everyone goes through trials and struggles and God knows exactly how to restore you to a healthy household.

The Bible is clear on how we can pray for our family during times of stress and struggles. Scripture gives us a ton of advice and wisdom in the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Philippians 4:6 NIV Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,  your requests to God.

Philippians 4:6 reminds us that we are secure in praying for everything with gratefulness and humility. We do not have to worry about anything: if we confess our sins, forgive one another, and believe, our prayers are powerful and meaningful.

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Matthew 6:7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

Mark 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

When your family is in the middle of a storm, the best place to turn to is the Bible! It is filled with God’s Word and His wisdom to carry you through it.

*This season may seem unmoveable, but if God can move mountains, He can remove this season from your strained household.*

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Phillipians 4:13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

James 1: 12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Romans 5:3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance.

Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the Lord. Trust in Him, and He will act.

Isaiah 43:2 When you go through deep waters, I will be with you.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

*Prayers for Family in Difficult Times*

Now that we’ve gone through the wisdom of the Word, let’s put these key Prayer Bible Verses for our family into practice.

God chose our perfect family unit and while it seems our problems can’t be solved, He will surprise us if we just hand Him the wheel.

_Heavenly Father, we come before you with a heavy heart. The stress of our lives has taken its toll. We ask you, Lord, take this burden from us and give us a renewed sense of strength, courage, and faith in your mighty works. Help us to encourage, forgive, and love one another. Amen._

*Family Prayer for Strength in Difficult Times*

Numbers 6:24-26- "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace."

Lord, bless my family and children. Give them hearts that follow after you.

Deuteronomy 31:6- "Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

Give my family the strength to not be afraid. Give them courage to stand up to what is right.

Psalm 51:10- "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me."

Produce within them an attitude of integrity, giving their lives to giving you glory.

Luke 10:19 – "Jesus said: ‘Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

During difficult times in family life, we must come to the Almighty to relieve us from the pressures of this world. Otherwise, we will bear these burdens alone.

It will affect our moods, and in turn, our relationships with loved ones will be compromised. Let’s take it to the Lord in prayer for strength and guidance.

Gracious God, thank you for your tender mercies. I am weak, turn my weakness into strength. I am tired, please take this burden from me so that I may serve you. I am frail, please build my confidence in your power and might. In Jesus Name, Amen!

*Family Prayer for Comfort in Difficult Times*

2 Corinthians 1:3-4:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Whether we or a family member is in physical or spiritual pain, God can provide comfort in difficult times.

Sometimes we go through our daily lives trying to figure how to get through the day, let’s not forget the Holy One can remove anything, He just asks that we come before Him in humbleness and faith.

Lord, please provide us comfort during this difficult time for our family. We know that you are the ultimate comforter, and can only bathe us with renewal, relief, and rejuvenation. In Jesus Name, Amen.

*Family Prayer for Courage in Difficult Times*

Psalm 31:24 ~ Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord! 1 Corinthians 16:13 ~ Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Psalm 27:14 ~ Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!

Making the right decisions while knowing the consequences can have a huge impact on family life. We know it takes a lot of courage — and sometimes we feel like fainting from the pressure to conform.

Instead, pray that God gives you and your loved ones the courage and determination to do what’s right during these difficulties in life.

Dear Abba, you are an amazing Lord. I know if you are on our side, we will have the courage to make the right decision during this struggling trial for our family. Help us to be strong and courageous as we carry your sword. Amen.

*Family Prayer for Healing in Difficult Times*

Jeremiah 1:12: Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it. Jeremiah 17:14: Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. Jeremiah 30:17: For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord.

As your family struggles with health, whether it be physically, mentally, or spiritually, prayer will grant your loved one’s peace and healing. God is the Great Physician, He hears our cries and delivers us from pain.

If your home is filled with pain, God will turn that pain into a positive outcome if you humbly ask Him.

Great Physician, we come before you with heavy burdens. Thank you, Lord, for hearing our request. The sickness running through our house seems to be gaining strength, yet, we know only you can remove this disease within us and fully restore us back to health.  In Jesus Name, Amen!

*Family Prayer for Unity in Difficult Times*

Our family is the most important unit in our lives. Sometimes, our worst fears are realized when we find ourselves with broken families.

He is the Triune God living in unity (John 17:22). He prayed that his disciples should be living in unity (John 17:21). For us to win the spiritual battle and to defeat the plans of the enemy, unity is very important. The Bible says the early church believers devoted themselves to the unity (Act 2:42).

Our family relationship must be revived and restored to its fullest potential. God can rejuvenate your family to a loving and honoring relationship filled with unity and tranquility.

Lord, our family unit is struggling to bond and our daily relationships are suffering. We need your guidance on how to fully restore our family into a thriving, godly house with a full focus on your Word and a healthy connection with each other.  In Jesus Name, Amen!

*Prayer for Family to Rest in God Through the Difficult Times*

I will go with you and give you rest (Exodus 33:12-14)

As the family goes through stressful situations, the relationships can get tense and dysfunctional. There is unrest and various emotions that can lead to unhealthy communication.

During these critical moments, it’s wise to pray that God helps you rest in Him and follow His leading for direction.

Father, you are our leader, our confidant, and our authority figure. Please help us rest in your Word and leadership during this time of family turmoil. Give us the peace of God that passes all understanding. In Jesus Name, Amen.

While families will face many trials and turbulence together, we must always remember that the owner of the universe hears our prayers.

We are not alone in this spiritual fight and these powerful prayers are just what we need to give us the strength, courage, and conviction moving forward.

While it may seem impossible, nothing is impossible with God. Pray for everything, my friend.
